Longview rally, Sept. 22nd 5-7pm at Longview Kaiser
Join us for a FAMILY FRIENDLY informational picket at Kaiser Permanente Longview-Kelso where we are raising up the issues that matter to both healthcare workers and our patients: safe staffing, sustainable resources, and a great union contract.

This morning Kaiser Permanente workers across Oregon and Southwest Washington have launched a strike authorization vote for what could be the largest labor action of 2025. These workers are members of the Oregon Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals (OFNHP, AFT 5017, AFL-CIO) who are bargaining with Kaiser alongside the 60,000 members of the Alliance of Healthcare Unions. The Alliance is currently bargaining over issues such as wages, working conditions, and the future of care. Despite making some progress, workers say that Kaiser’s corporate leadership still refuses to agree to common

This past week was an eventful, yet ultimately disappointing, national bargaining session. We had representatives from all six of our bargaining units present to hold local bargaining at the national session. Many of you have already received local bargaining updates—there were some gains, but not nearly enough to set Kaiser back on course.

We are continuing forward with our strike authorization vote on September 15th, and we encourage you to sign up to phone bank your coworkers during next week to ensure we have a great vote. Our bargaining teams are uniformly supporting a YES vote. If you

Labcorp workers have been at the bargaining table for a year, fighting for a fair first contract that protects their patients and their profession. Labcorp has dragged its feet, refusing to make reasonable proposals while lab workers continue to push for fair wages, safe staffing, and respect on the job.

But this September, the tables are turning. Labcorp workers are holding multiple bargaining sessions throughout the month, and each one is being packed with their coworkers and supporters from across OFNHP to show management the power of unity. On Wednesday, September 17th at 11:30am at the

Members holding signs at a rally

As we move closer to a potential strike, it’s important that every member has the information they need. That’s why we’re hosting a series of Strike FAQ Tele-Town Halls—multiple opportunities to hear directly from union leaders, get your questions answered, and make sure you know exactly what to expect if we go on strike.

These sessions will cover everything from strike logistics to your rights on the picket line and how to support your coworkers throughout the campaign. Each session will include a presentation and time for live Q&A.

This past week, we continued national bargaining with Kaiser Permanente alongside the Alliance of Healthcare Unions. While we are proud of the progress we have made, we remain far apart on many of the issues that matter most to our members.

Economics

The Alliance economic subgroup met with Kaiser Permanente (KP) on Monday and Wednesday. KP made no meaningful movement toward our goal of restoring fairness to our wages. High inflation and recent contract settlements in our region have left Kaiser scrambling to fill open positions while our members struggle to keep up.

Alliance Members Demanding Kaiser Live Up to Their Agreements

This week marked a critical moment in our fight for a fair national contract with Kaiser Permanente. As members of the Alliance of Healthcare Unions—which represents over 60,000 healthcare professionals across the country, including our own OFNHP members—we have been at the table demanding what we all know is necessary: safe staffing, fair wages, and a real voice on the job.

At Thursday night's rally, we showed just how powerful we are. Hundreds of OFNHP members and allies packed Terry Schrunk Plaza in downtown Portland for a historic demonstration in support of healthcare workers and the
