Kaiser Workers Ratify New Union Contract

After 360 days of bargaining with Kaiser and standing together in the largest healthcare worker strike of 2025, we reached a Tentative Agreement (TA). And our membership has spoken.

This agreement was approved by 90% of voting members, with a total voter turnout of 78%.

This outcome reflects more than numbers. It reflects the strength of our collective strategy, the resilience of all of you, and the power of members coming together to shape the conditions of our work and the care we provide.

This contract is the result of a long and determined campaign, including an unforgettable five-day strike, countless hours of organizing, thousands of conversations, and action across our worksites. Every member who showed up, spoke out, and stood together made this victory possible.

We didn't get everything we fought for, including full retro pay. But we moved the bar:
  • The largest economic increases we've had
  • Won language and protections around things like AI and professional development
  • Made movement on several priorities from our bargaining platform
  • Preserved and expanded healthcare and other benefits
  • Fully funded and kept partnership structures within the LMP
  • And achieved alignment across all six bargaining units, which builds power that we will carry forward
We will be sharing more details about implementation timelines and key provisions so you know what to expect and when changes will take effect.

I want to extend a special thank you to our staff, member leaders, and bargaining teams, who showed up night after night, for nearly two years, building and driving this campaign forward. Your discipline, tenacity, and belief in what’s possible made the difference and helped us win the strongest contract we could.

And to our members, thank you for standing together, staying engaged, and making your voices heard.

I am incredibly proud to have been in this fight with all of you. This victory belongs to you.

You proved that when we fight together - we win. ✊

In Solidarity,

Sarina Roher, RN
