October 6, 2017, Portland—Six OFNHP nurses boarded a plane to Puerto Rico Wednesday to provide direct care and assist with recovery efforts in the wake of Hurricane Maria. They are part of a volunteer delegation of more than 300 union medical professionals, first responders, skilled trades workers, and truck drivers who responded to a call for help by the national AFL-CIO.

August 26, 2018- On Sunday, members from our bargaining units at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center celebrated the work that has been done in the one year since members have decided to form a union and ratified their first contracts.

Welcome to OFNHP, PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Techs!

Friday, August 10, PeaceHealth Sacred Heart techs voted overwhelmingly to ratify our first union contract with just cause protection, guaranteed wage increases, and PTO accrual on all hours worked!

As bargaining with Kaiser Permanente heats up against management's attempts to stall our commitment to improving our contracts for our patients, the Bargaining Team has requested all membership attend a meeting on 7/29 to discuss current bargaing status, the stakes, and our next steps.

OFNHP members at KPNW won important agreements in Continuing Care Services, Urgent Care, and Emergency Psychiatric Services in June.  Take a look at how our departmental bargaining teams were able to improve the conditions for OFNHP members and their patients.

OFNHP stewards are at it again--enforcing our contracts to protect our hard-won wages and benefits! For the last two years, PeaceHealth has incorrectly calculated PTO by not including evening and night shift differentials in the pay. Stewards grieved the issue and prevailed, returning over $200,000 to the pockets of our members! Thanks to the perseverance of our stewards, management has fixed their practice, and more than 550 members who got short-changed will see backpay on their next paycheck!
On May 29, the Surgical Support Aides and the Rad Tech Student Coordinator at PHSW voted to join OFNHP! They join nearly 1500 OFNHP members working in the PeaceHealth system in the Northwest.
What makes this possible? Part of the dues we contribute as union members goes to supporting non-union workers who want to join with us. It's how we continue to build strength in our industry for better contracts!
"Your union dues spent wisely. Thank you for welcoming me."
-- Heather Cassavoy, Student Coordinator, Rad Tech
