Beginning Friday, September 11, ODOT will close all southbound lanes of I-5 through the Rose Quarter, between I-405 and I-84, for up to five weeks. The closure is expected to cause significant congestion and increased travel times throughout the Portland area.
To help reduce unnecessary travel during the closure, OFNHP’s Tigard Union Hall will temporarily adjust its in-person office availability.
During the closure, in-person office hours at the Tigard Union Hall will generally be 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. when the office is open. We strongly encourage members who need to visit the union hall to make an appointment in advance by emailing itsmyunion@ofnhp.org. Whenever possible, appointments should be scheduled between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Staff will only be there for specific appointments or location-specific work, so make sure to arrange meetings as far in advance as possible.
These temporary changes do not affect our ability to assist members outside of those hours. OFNHP remains available to members as usual by phone, email, and other means.
There will be no change to the Vancouver Union Hall.
ODOT currently estimates that the I-5 closure will last through mid-to-late October, although that timeline could change. We will keep members updated about any changes to our office hours as the situation develops.
