Kaiser National Bargaining Update:
Well, another week has come and gone without a National comprehensive TA. But this week’s national bargaining was not a waste of time. We secured important tentative agreements that move the entire Alliance, and this employer, closer to where they need to be.
We locked in key funding wins for the Ben Hudnall Trust Fund, HNHP pension, and the Unite Here educational trust. The BHMT increase alone, roughly a 40% bump in per-member funding is a major victory for every healthcare worker who’s been waiting for real investment in their careers and futures. The Hawaii agreements don’t directly hit our region, but every issue taken off the table tightens the vise and puts more pressure on Kaiser to settle the rest.
Our economics team delivered a comprehensive on-the-record proposal this week. We held firm at 25% over four years, with 17% in the first two years — but we made strategic modifications to the distribution of that 17% to make it more “palatable” without giving up a single ounce of value. We also continue to put forward our ATBs, effective retroactively on 10/01/2025.
Kaiser may be signaling they’re “less interested” in contract alignment since the strike, but alignment remains one of our top priorities. We’re also still pushing for expanding No Cancellation protections to everyone, raising minimum PSP payouts if the financial gate isn’t met, and we proposed minor clarifying adjustments to the template language which is nothing substantive, but tightening the guardrails that protects our professional judgment.
This week didn’t deliver the full settlement we deserve, but it delivered progress, pressure, and proof that when we stand united, we shift this employer inch by inch toward the reality that our members must be respected, protected, and paid accordingly.

Your bargaining team leadership has initiated a Vote of No Confidence in Mr. Greg Adams, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Kaiser Permanente.
