Now that the Halsey Street Labcorp location has won their union election, we have joined our bargaining teams so that all fourteen Labcorp locations are now bargaining together! We have been in negotiations for months but still have a long ways to go to win our first contract. We will keep you informed as we head back to the table.
Lab week is coming up next week, which is a great chance for us to share more about our work with the public and raise the profile of our campaign! Check out our schedule below, but we are also encouraging our members to take photos and videos and either post them on your own social media with the hashtag #LabWeek, drop them in the drive that the organizers have been sharing, or send them to our Communications Organizer at sburley@ofnhp.org. We are sending Scooby-Doo themed buttons and will be holding a costume contest as well! A great photo has members wearing union swag and does not include any sensitive workplace or patient information, and a good video has your name, your job title, and either what you love about being a labor worker or what you intend to win in your first contract.
We have a week of activities plan for #LabWeek:
1. Monday, April 21 – Lab week kickoff!
- Fun Lab Week buttons/stickers designed by the CAT team.
- Wear Lab Week gear from past years or new special edition gear.
- Submit photos to highlight our collective strength.
- Mini Lab games all week!
2. Tuesday, April 22 – Scooby-Doo Costume Contest
- Dress as a Scooby Doo character.
- Submit photos, winner will be announced during Thursday’s General Membership Meeting (see below).
3. Wednesday, April 23 - We Wear Red
- Wear red and union swag.
- Take group unity photos.
- Record short videos outlining what lab professionals do.
4. Thursday, April 24 – General Membership Meeting (Zoom at 6 PM)
- Open to Legacy LabCorp & Halsey members.
- Costume contest winner announced.
- Bargaining updates and Q&A session.
- Announce the next action.
