We want to provide clarification on the language in Section 3.E.4 of the National Agreement regarding wage increases that take effect on or after October 1, 2025.
Some members have asked whether Techs and RDHs should have or will receive a wage increase on that date. They will not, and here’s why:
The language in Section 3.E.4 only applies if there is no successor National Agreement. We are already in active negotiations for that successor contract right now. Once we reach a tentative agreement, the across-the-board (ATB) wage increases we negotiate will apply to all OFNHP-represented units, including Techs and RDHs.
In other words, the 2% or 3% increases mentioned in Section 3.E.4 are a fallback provision, and they only take effect if no new contract is reached. Because we are negotiating the next National Agreement, those fallback increases will not apply to OFNHP units.
Thank you for your continued solidarity as we bargain the contract our members and patients deserve. Please email itsmyunion@ofnhp.org with any questions.
In unity and strength,
Sarina Roher, RN
President, OFNHP AFT Local 5017
FAQ
Q: Does this mean we won’t get a raise after October 1, 2025?
A: No. It means your raise will come from the successor National Agreement that we are bargaining right now, not from the fallback language. The wage increases in that new agreement will apply to all covered units once ratified.
Q: Why does the contract mention 2% or 3% increases?
A: Those are only temporary “bridge” increases meant to cover employees if there is no new National Agreement in place. Since we are bargaining for a new agreement, those percentages do not apply to OFNHP units.
Q: When will the new wage increases take effect?
A: Once we reach a tentative agreement and members vote to ratify it, the agreed-upon ATB increases will apply. The timing and any retroactive will all depend on what is negotiated. We will communicate details as tentative agreements are made.
