What’s happening?
COVID19 caused KPNW to make changes in the way we care for patients. For everyone’s safety, we enacted screening checks, physical distancing, additional cleaning, and maximum occupancy standards for all KPNW facilities. These changes created priority temporary assignments such as greeters, prescription curbside couriers and enhanced environmental support cleaners. As we reopened facilities and expanded services, many employees working these temporary assignments returned to their permanent assignments.
We need your help. We welcome employees to voluntarily request shifts over and above their weekly coded hours.
How can I request a shift?
- All employees who wish to add shifts over and above coded hours may go to LB Lite Open Shift-Regional View to request a shift.
- Effective 08/26/20, On Call and Coded Replacement employees without a shift in their regular departments on a day that they are available to work may call Labor Pool Staffers at 503-261-4119 to be assigned a same-day shift.
- Labor Pool Staffers will approve shift requests daily and send out confirmation email to employee, employee’s permanent manager and employee’s temporary manager.
- Labor Pool Staffers will approve shift requests using seniority if there is more than one employee requesting the same shift.
- Labor Pool Staffers will reach out to employees that were not approved for shifts to help employees find other open shifts.
What if I need help with LB Lite and what if don’t have a LB Lite account?
- If Employee needs LB Lite access, Employee should send an email to LaborPool-Schedulers@kp.org and a Labor Pool Staffer will activate a LB Lite account.
- If Employee is using a computer on the KP network, Employee should review the LB Lite Labor Pool Job Aide on how to request a shift.
- If Employee is not using a computer on the KP network, Employee should review the attachedLB Lite Labor Pool Job Aid on how to request a shift (this version does not include the video tutorial so we recommend accessing the job aid on the KP network).
- If Employee needs additional LB Lite assistance, Employee should send an email toLaborPool-Schedulers@kp.org.
How many shifts can I request?
- Employee may request multiple shifts up to four weeks out (shifts are released on a rolling weekly basis on Fridays around 1200 pm).
- Employees should consider shifts that provide adequate rest between all regular and COVID19 shifts.
What are the priority shift needs?
- We are most in need of weekday night and evening shifts and weekend day, night and evening shifts.
How do I charge my time?
- Employees will clock in and out for their COVID19 shift using the timecode for the department where employees work (temporary manager will provide the timecode information).
