RN Contract Implementation FAQ 2026

If you are personally affected by any of the following, please take the steps below:

Incorrect wages (including step 13 placement)  or missing retroactive pay:

File a 1980 payroll form and obtain a case number. Include your direct manager. Your manager is responsible for adding the appropriate Employee and Labor Relations representative.  Cc itsmyunion@ofnhp.org and provide your 1980-wage audit case number, years of working RN experience, and years working at KP.

A requested day off was denied and you believe it should have been approved, including denial of a fourth float holiday in 2027:

Email your direct manager, your staffer, and Staffing Director Corinne Ginet. Include the date requested, when the request was submitted, and any information showing why you believe it should have been approved. Cc itsmyunion@ofnhp.org

Extra shifts were awarded outside your home unit while you were on the availability list:

Email your director and management. Include the date and shift involved, confirmation that you were on the availability list, and any available information regarding how the work was awarded. Cc itsmyunion@ofnhp.org

Staffing states that you are not meeting your contractual on-call availability:

Review Article 8 of the CBA and email your direct manager, Staffing, and Corinne Ginet. Ask them to identify the specific contractual requirement they believe you have not met. Cc itsmyunion@ofnhp.org

You were not paid for additional hours worked at the correct contractual rate:

Email your direct manager Cc itsmyunion@ofnhp.orgwith the date, hours worked, and the reason the additional work was necessary. Include any supporting documentation, such as timekeeping records, schedules, emails, or text messages. Also give an eslip to your manager for the missing wages. For clarification, regardless of if you are outpatient or inpatient, if you were prescheduled for 36 hours or more in a week and picked up an additional shift that week, the additional shift should be paid at the time-and-a-half rate.  “Prescheduled” pertains to shifts awarded when the schedule was published.  This is not the case if you took standby, bereavement, float holiday, sick time, vacation, or a VTO during the same week.

Career Ladder rate was updated but is not correct:

Email Katie Hawks and cc itsmyunion@ofnhp.org with the discrepancy for resolution.

Please retain copies of all emails, forms, case numbers, schedules, and other supporting documentation. These records are important when we need to identify patterns, escalate unresolved concerns, or pursue enforcement of the contract.

What is RN BU leadership doing about contract implementation?

The RN contract was ratified on March 30, 2026.

Implementation work does not happen only when RN BU leadership meets with management. A significant amount of this work occurs behind the scenes: reviewing contract language, responding to member concerns, collecting documentation, identifying patterns across departments, communicating with management, preparing for meetings, requesting corrections, filing grievances, unfair labor practices, request for information and following up when issues remain unresolved.

The following is an overview of the work completed and currently scheduled. This list is not exhaustive.
