National Economic Bargaining - June 24th

President’s National Economic Bargaining Update: June 24, 2025

Yesterday we were back at national bargaining over economics. That session brought no new Tentative Agreements (TAs), and while we continue to press forward, real movement remains slow. But make no mistake, the pressure is mounting. Management is saying they want a Tentative Agreement by the end of August. And we’ve made it clear: there’s only one way that happens... movement, especially at the local tables.

I directly raised concerns about the lack of progress in local bargaining, particularly where management continues to stall behind the justification of “waiting on economics.” With economics largely on the table, that excuse no longer holds. I called on senior leaders to step in and push their teams to act.

Management spent time yesterday gaining clarity on some of our key proposals, including:

  • Insourcing
  • Elected Union Leave
  • Alignment of contracts

We also discussed counters on:

  • Retiree Health Benefits
  • Active Health Benefits
  • Ben Hudnall Memorial Trust

These are critical issues, and we’re not letting up. The economic subgroup will reconvene on July 14th, and we’ll keep pressing to turn the pressure into progress.

Local updates from other regions remain mostly status quo, though our local teams are forging ahead with proposals that reflect the priorities and realities of each bargaining unit.

Next up, subgroups will be meeting this week and next on:

  • Performance Sharing Plan (PSP)
  • Lactation Support
  • Knowing Your Rights and Protecting Our Patients as It Relates to Immigration Policy

You’ll continue to receive detailed local bargaining updates in the Monday Bargaining Bulletin and anytime by visiting our website's Bargaining Central.

In the meantime:

  • RED UP on Tuesdays

  • Support your local bargaining teams by observing a session: Click Here to RSVP!
  • Make plans to join us in Portland for National Bargaining, August 5–7

Let’s keep the pressure on. Let’s stay visible. Let’s win this together.
