Save Healthcare Rally

A message from OFNHP President Dawnette McCloud:

Early this morning the Senate took the first step to repeal the Affordable Care Act. The budget resolution passed assigns committees to draft repeal legislation.

In the rush to repeal, Congress threatens to cut-and-run on the ACA, leaving 30 million Americans uninsured and driving up premium costs for the rest of us.

As a nurse, I've witnessed firsthand the cost of going uninsured – all those patients who land in the ED because they couldn't afford to see their doctor or take their

medications as prescribed.

No one should ever have to choose between seeking medical care and paying the rent—and no one should face financial ruin because of an illness or injury.

It's crucial that healthcare professionals like us speak out about the costs of repealing the ACA and demand Congress offer a demonstrably better replacement. Acting together, we who work on the frontlines of healthcare will send a powerful message to lawmakers. Let's improve the Affordable Care Act, not pull the rug out from under millions of Americans.

On January 15, Americans nationwide will rally to save healthcare.  Join me for a rally on Sunday in Portland with Senators Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden, and Representatives Earl Blumenauer and Suzanne Bonamici.
