St. Charles Techs Reach Tentative Agreement on New Contract

We are so excited to share the news that we have come to a tentative agreement (TA) with the employer for our new collective bargaining agreement!

After months of tough negotiations and escalating collective action—including most recently our informational picket at the hospital—we've finally made the improvements we need in our work and compensation, including:

  • A step and grade compensation structure so we know our annual wage increases year after year;

  • Increased night shift differential;

  • Strong successorship language giving us rights in case St Charles is bought by another health system;

  • Fair share language to ensure we maintain a strong organization to be able to advocate for ourselves;

  • And language removing disciplinary actions from personnel files after 12 months;

  • Improved and increased ETO.

We were able to secure all this and more without a strike because we worked together and maintained our solidarity all the way through our picket. When we stick together, we win.

Please look for another communication in the coming days regarding details on upcoming contract meetings to see exactly what’s in the agreement, ask questions of the bargaining team, and vote on the contract. This contract does not take effect until it has been voted in by our members.

If you have questions right now, please reply to this email or talk to your CAT/bargaining team members. We can’t wait to share the details with you at our upcoming meetings.
