Unfortunately, most people have experienced some type of bullying at work, often from a boss or supervisor who makes it difficult to do your job. These are the kinds of issues that a union confronts, bringing together workers to fight back against unjust conditions. This is what the healthcare professionals at PeaceHealth SouthWest are doing, working together as members of the Oregon Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals (OFNHP - AFT 5017). These Patient Access Representatives (PARs) are organizing to confront a “bully boss” situation and to fight for better working conditions, a voice on the job, and to ensure more staffing are available to ensure great patient care.
Join these union activists as they speak up at their Rally Against Workplace Bullying on October 10th, at 5:30pm. Union leaders and community activists will be sharing their stories and demanding a change, and the more community members, patients, and activists join them, the louder our voices will become. Together, we have the power to change our workplaces and our healthcare systems and ensure that no frontline healthcare worker should experience workplace harassment.
