Role Title: UBT Labor Improvement Advisor
General Description: 1 UBT Labor Improvement Advisor to join our Performance Improvement Department, three-year personal commitment required to take this position. You will be working to accelerate UBT’s in performance improvement for the organization, Alliance of Healthcare Unions, and other Partnership Unions.

Overview:
 
The LMP Trust Fund allocates resources for both labor and management to have people whose role is to focus on the success of the Partnership. UBT Improvement Advisors are on Special Assignment Agreements (SAA) to provide the support that is needed for union members, managers, and physicians to have an effective partnership. In this role selected applicants will be accountable to both labor and management. They will be working with front line union members, union leaders, Alliance Director, and management to promote the values, practices and programs of the Partnership and implement the National Agreement. They will have the opportunity to directly impact the success of the Partnership where it really counts…in the places we work.
 
Role and responsibilities: Typical duties of this assignment to include, but not limited to:
Round regularly on UBT team members to determine progress and barriers
Meet with UBT co-leads on a regular basis to ensure co-leads and are using RIM+ tools and documenting in UBT Tracker; coach co-leads; modeling FL practices; identify needed support; and review the communication plan.
Attend meetings of assigned UBT’s to advise on RIM+ and ensure that projects are documented, and that UBT scorecards are being reviewed.
Provide UBT/RIM orientation and partnership training.
Understand UBT scorecards; how they are linked to the Regional Operating Plan; and how teams use them to improve performance.
Facilitate IBPS when needed by UBT.
Orient newly named co-leads (labor, management, and physicians) to UBT’s and performance improvement tools, UBT Tracker, and Statit.
Assist co-leads on how to on-board new team members.
Work closely with other members of the Resource Team and the Resource Team Program Leads.
Union Resource Team members will mentor union co-leads in the role of union steward when it is new for the co-leads and help them understand the importance of attending the steward councils regularly.
Link co-leads with subject matter experts in service, quality, affordability, workplace safety, healthy workforce, attendance, etc. Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to labor and management
Model Partnership behaviors and lead by example
Additional responsibilities as needed
 
Preferred qualifications (please list in your resume any and all that apply):
Basic or advanced knowledge Performance Improvement (PI) systems and tools
Understand scorecards and how they link to the Operating Plan and ability to coach UBT co-leads.
Be a subject matter expert in RIM+ to help teams structure their efforts.
Be able to equate the Operating Plan “pillars” to the Value Compass and help teams to work with RIM/Scorecard
Take Facilitative Skills Workshop and coach co-leads on facilitative leadership practices.
Work with the Performance Improvement Department Program Leads on Individual Development Plan.
Completed Associate Improvement Advisor (AIA) training
Completed all LMP, Steward, and Co-leads training
Efficient use of UBT Tracker 
Experience in delivering training, preferably LMP classes 
LMP and or UBT co-lead

Additional important information:
Position is funded on an annual basis, renewable twice for a total of three years.
This is a full-time position; part-time employees may apply if they are willing and able to work five days a week, full time hours. Working full-time in this role will not affect an employees’ part-time status or qualify them for full-time status upon return to their prior position.
This position is paid at your current rate of pay
Shift is generally Monday through Friday, daytime hours with some flexibility needed to meet members and teams on varying shifts
IA’s are “kept whole” meaning all wages and benefits are maintained at their current level.
