Inpatient RNs: Planning to retire this year?

Planning ahead for the higher census winter months, OFNHP has reached an agreement with Kaiser on a $1000 retirement notice incentive. Our goal is to minimize the impact of this year's retirements on our units. Providing advanced notice will help our coworkers and our patients by allowing more time for our units to prepare for the transition.

If you are an RN employed at KSMC or KWMC and you are planning to retire on or before December 31, 2016, you are eligible for the new RN Retirement Notice Incentive.

To receive the incentive, you must provide notice on or before October 31, 2016 of your intent to retire this year.

If you are eligible, and provide notice as described below, the $1000 incentive will be paid on or before your last day of employment with Kaiser.

You can read the full text of the new agreement here.

How to provide notice:

Eligible employees must provide Notice of Intent to Retire by e-mail to KPNW Human Resources, NW-HRServices@kp.org. Employees who have already provided notice of retirement will also still need to email KPNW Human Resource Services.

Be sure to include the following information in your email:

  • Full Legal
  • Name
  • Employee ID #
  • NUID
  • Retirement date
  • Current mailing address

If you do plan to retire this year, don't be a stranger. OFNHP has an active retirees chapter and Political Education Action Committee. Both are great ways to stay connected to your union and continue to advocate for nurses and patients. Just email itsmyunion@ofnhp.org if you'd like to know more.
