Members of the Oregon Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals didn’t let the rain stop them from standing with their community in Portland and distributing hundreds of books over the Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. Alliance Update-- Back to the Bargaining Table for Final Talks on Monday, September 17

September 12, 2018 - With the expiration of the [Kaiser] National Agreement looming at the end of the month, negotiations will resume in Los Angeles on Monday, September 17. Some progress has been made in prior rounds of talks, but there is a lot of ground to cover in a short time.

October 6, 2017, Portland—Six OFNHP nurses boarded a plane to Puerto Rico Wednesday to provide direct care and assist with recovery efforts in the wake of Hurricane Maria. They are part of a volunteer delegation of more than 300 union medical professionals, first responders, skilled trades workers, and truck drivers who responded to a call for help by the national AFL-CIO.

Coordinated Kaiser National Negotiations Break Off with Key Issues Unresolved

AUGUST 30, 2018 - After two more days of negotiating on August 28 and 29, the Alliance Unions and KP were not able to agree on a comprehensive economic settlement, sending the sides back to the table on September 17.

August 26, 2018- On Sunday, members from our bargaining units at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center celebrated the work that has been done in the one year since members have decided to form a union and ratified their first contracts.

Friday, August 10, PeaceHealth Sacred Heart techs voted overwhelmingly to ratify our first union contract with just cause protection, guaranteed wage increases, and PTO accrual on all hours worked!

As bargaining with Kaiser Permanente heats up against management's attempts to stall our commitment to improving our contracts for our patients, the Bargaining Team has requested all membership attend a meeting on 7/29 to discuss current bargaing status, the stakes, and our next steps.
