Tech Contract Specialist

The Tech bargaining unit has an opening for the Contract Specialist position.

This part-time, twenty (20) hour per week position will be paid in accordance with the standard Labor Management Partnership Lost Time Agreement. The person hired for the position will fill a one-year term, with a possible extension. Any qualified member in good standing of the Tech bargaining unit is eligible to apply for this position.

The duties of the Contract Specialist are described in the National Agreement as:

“Contract interpretation and administration, contract education, guidance in grievance and problem resolution, improvement in shop steward capacity and consistent contract application.” The contract language governing the position is outlined in Section 1.F.3 of the National Agreement, pages 22-23.

This position calls for an individual to to uphold and interpret the contract, serving as a valuable resource for bargaining unit stewards, union members and management. We encourage anyone interested in expanding their knowledge and responsibility within the workplace and our union to apply.
